Our Mission

Human Potential. Wild Futures.

We create practical infrastructure that helps people turn their judgment, agency, and care into sustainable economic output, then direct that activity toward wildlife conservation.

We are building for a future where AI does not simply concentrate opportunity, but helps distribute it. A future where people at large can rebuild around what they know, and where the value created by new systems helps protect the ecosystems, habitats, and species under pressure around the world.

Our work is guided by three commitments:

Human agency: We build tools that help people participate in the economy with ownership and practical leverage.

Responsible automation: We use AI to support judgment, coordination, and execution — not to replace accountability or enable empty arbitrage.

Wildlife conservation: We believe technological systems should help protect the natural world. Megafauna gives 50% of monthly sales to conservation efforts globally.

Contribution Policy

Purpose

Megafauna Inc. provides recurring financial support to credible wildlife conservation organizations. The contribution program is intended to begin immediately, grow automatically with Megafauna and support measurable, equitable and lasting conservation outcomes.

Contribution amount

The monthly wildlife conservation allocation will equal the greater of:

  1. $10 per month; or
  2. 50% of eligible monthly revenue.

For a commercial entity, eligible revenue means net operating sales, excluding taxes, refunds and pass-through amounts.

For a nonprofit entity, eligible revenue means unrestricted operating revenue, excluding donor-restricted funds, pass-through grants, donated services and funds legally committed to another purpose.

Financial safeguard

When unrestricted liquid reserves are below 3 months of normal operating expenses, Megafauna will contribute the foundation amount only. The percentage-based allocation will resume automatically once the reserve requirement has been met.

The reserve threshold and contribution rate will be reviewed annually.

Payment schedule

Allocations will be calculated monthly and paid quarterly. A year-end reconciliation will compare total donations with actual eligible revenue.

Conservation priorities

Megafauna will select one primary wildlife conservation theme for each three-year strategy period. Initial priorities may include habitat conservation, threatened-species recovery, wildlife trafficking prevention, human–wildlife coexistence or community-led conservation.

Recipient selection

Recipients must:

  • Be legally registered and in good standing.
  • Demonstrate alignment with the selected conservation priority.
  • Provide appropriate financial, governance and impact information.
  • Maintain suitable community, environmental and animal-welfare safeguards.
  • Disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
  • Demonstrate a credible conservation strategy and monitoring process.

Eligible organizations will be assessed according to conservation outcomes, community participation, organizational capability, transparency and capacity for learning.

Portfolio structure

Until the annual contribution pool can provide meaningful support to multiple recipients, Megafauna will fund one core conservation partner.

As the contribution pool grows, the target allocation will be:

  • 70% to a core conservation partner.
  • 20% to local or community-led conservation.
  • 10% for conservation emergencies, innovation or matching opportunities.

The board may adjust these allocations when circumstances warrant.

Type and duration of support

Contributions should ordinarily be unrestricted. Core partnerships should be considered for three-year renewable relationships, subject to annual legal, financial and impact review.

Reporting requirements will be proportionate to the amount contributed. Small recipients will not be required to create custom reports when existing financial statements, annual reports and brief impact updates provide sufficient oversight.

Monitoring

Megafauna maintains a quarterly dashboard recording:

  • Eligible revenue and the applicable contribution calculation.
  • Amounts committed and paid.
  • Recipients and portfolio allocation.
  • One to three conservation indicators for each partner.
  • Material risks, lessons and renewal decisions.

Public communications will describe outcomes to which Megafauna contributed and will not claim direct attribution without appropriate evidence.

Governance

The board will approve the policy, contribution rate, foundation amount, reserve threshold, conservation priorities and eligible recipient list.

The executive director and finance lead are authorized to calculate and issue payments consistent with this policy without obtaining separate approval for each payment.

Directors and employees must disclose actual or potential conflicts involving prospective recipients. Individuals with a conflict will not participate in the relevant selection or approval decision.
